Field Discovery

An interactive discovery system for a worldwide diagnostics and healthcare brand. Deployed on portrait 4K touchscreens and iPads at events across the US, Canada, Europe and China. Visitors walk a guided route through products, drop them into a basket, submit their details, and receive automated brochures by email — all CRM-tracked, multi-locale, and fully offline-capable.

About this project

The brief, the build, and the result.

Field Discovery is the interactive lead-capture system Remiam built for one of the world's largest diagnostics and healthcare brands. Deployed on portrait 4K touchscreens at booth installations and on iPads in field-sales hands, it walks visitors through a guided product-discovery route — branching by their role, region, and lab type — then lets them add interesting products into a basket, enter their details on a touch-optimised on-screen keyboard, and submit. The system then pushes the lead into the client's CRM and triggers automated brochure emails containing only the products that visitor was interested in. Built across two repos — a Nuxt 3 + Ionic + Capacitor hybrid app that runs natively on iOS and Android, and a hardened Express + SendGrid + Supabase backend handling CRM sync, validation and rate limiting. Multi-locale (English, plus regional variants for Europe and Mandarin for China), and fully offline-capable so a poor venue wifi never breaks a booth shift. Analytics stored locally on-device and synced to Supabase when online.
